There are lot of things in my sewing room that you would expect to find: scissors, cutting mat, fabric markers, etc. However, there is one thing in my sewing room that would probably have you contemplating my sanity: alcohol swabs.
Why would I keep these close by in a drawer?
They are so useful for a few quick clean ups.
If you use a waxy tracing paper like I do, then you know how the tracing paper can transfer to your rulers, tools, and even your fingers.
One quick swipe with these guys and everything is clean again.
I also use the swabs for cleaning needles ~ especially when I’m machine embroidering. If I use a sticky back stabilizer, it can gum up the needle. A quick pass with one of these swabs and it is goo-free.
I don’t even bother to unwrap them for this.

Great tip!
Fabulous tip! I know whenever I sew in any kind of velcro with a sticky back it gums up my machine needle so bad! I’m definitely keeping some of these on hand now. Thanks for the great idea 🙂 Pinned it!
Great tip. I forgot all about sticky-back velcro. This tip is perfect for that.
with three nurses in the family, we always have alcohol swabs around. They are a staple in my sewing room, too!!!!!
