Remember a few weeks back when I talked all about fabric pre-cuts and how much I loved them?
It just so happens that Fat Quarter Shop loves them, too, and is giving away a Feedsack Fat Quarter Bundle by Whistler Studios for Wyndham Fabrics. This collection of beautiful floral prints reminds me of colorful fabrics from the 1930’s and would be ideal for a vintage-style project.
As a matter of fact, this fabric collection reminds me of a book I love called The Farmer’s Wife 1930s Sampler Quilt. (affiliate link) Pinterest even has an entire quilting category dedicated to Farmer’s Wife quilts. Check it out and see what I’m talking about. Wouldn’t this fat quarter bundle be ideal?
All of the different Farmer’s Wife quilts reminds me why I think a fat quarter bundle is so versatile. Each piece of fabric is 18″ x 22″ and there are so many ways you can use it.
- It’s size is ideal for cutting out a variety of quilt pieces due to its square shape.
- Each fat quarter can be cut down into lots of different piecing shapes: 10″x 10″ squares, 5″x5″ squares, 2.5″ strips, and 2.5″ squares. These shapes can then be turned into simple shapes such as half square triangles to give variety to a quilt.
- A fat quarter bundle can be made into a variety of projects.
- Many fat quarter bundles will have at least one piece of fabric from the entire collection.
To win this collection of fabrics (and possibly begin your Farmer’s Wife quilt), follow the directions in the entry box below. Good luck!
