Today’s topic is Quilting with an Embroidery Machine.
I must first confess that I have never attempted this. I love quilts, I think quilting looks like fun, but I don’t quilt.
However, for those of you who quilt, you may want to consider an embroidery machine because it does some of the work for you.
First, there are design sets you can purchase that have in-the-hoop-piecing. Because the thought of sewing a bunch of tiny little pieces together scares me, this could be an option.
Last year I attended an Anita Goodesign weekend and saw this demonstrated.

Then, there are design sets that do the free motion quilting for you once you’ve pieced your quilt.
OESD has this set called Quilting Whimsey by Diane Gaudynski.
These are pretty amazing machine quilting designs. They would look great on almost any quilt.
This set by Anita Goodesign has stippling designs and smaller designs. This would be perfect for anyone with smaller hoops.
I’m totally in love with the one on the far right. It makes me want to piece a quilt together today!
Most dealers will have a variety of quilting design sets available. They would be your best source; plus, they could answer quilting questions more intelligently than I ~ because I don’t really quilt.
But, you knew that.
